About CSU/APA

Cleveland State University's student chapter of the American Planning Association (CSU/APA) is a student-run campus organization that aims to enrich the academic experience of students in the Maxine Goodman Levin College of Urban Affairs. CSU/APA strives to facilitate the exchange of ideas and thoughtful discussions, foster professional development, and create a sense of community among all students at Cleveland State University.

Mission

- Foster community building among all faculty and students in the College of Urban Affairs
- Reach out to the community to teach the importance of urban planning
- Participate in Cleveland's neighborhood revitalization through civic service
- Expose students to innovative solutions to current planning challenges
- Enhance members' professional development

Andrew is a 2nd year Master of Urban Planning, Design and Development, Past Secretary of Cleveland State University's Student Government Association from 2010-2011 school year. Graduate Assistant for Professor Robert Simons.

Vice President- Peter Jensen

Peter is a 2nd year Master of Urban Planning, Design, and Development Candidate. He is a Student Planning Assistant for Kirby Date, AICP, at the Community Planning Program.

Treasurer- Andrea Bruno

Andrea is a second year MUPDD student at CSU and a second year MBA student at Lake Erie College. She works on campus as a GA for Student Organizations in the Student Involvement Center.

Secretary- Hasani Wheat

Hasani is a 2nd year Master of Urban Planning, Design and Development (MUPDD) Graduate Candidate and is in the certificate program for Geographic Information Systems. Currently, Hasani works as an Engagement Intern for The Civic Commons, a civic engagement and social innovation non-profit.

Bryce is specializing in Urban Real Estate Development and Finance, is a Graduate Assistant to Dr. Roby Simons and President of CSU Net Impact.

Social Chair- Greg Soltis

Greg is a second year Master of Urban Planning, Design and Development (MUPDD) Graduate Candidate with focuses in Neighborhood Development & Urban Design.

Jared is a first year Master of Arts in Environmental Studies (MAES) candidate at CSU, specializing in environmental planning.  He is currently the TA for Dr. Davis-Jones' Urban Studies class, and research assistant for Dr. Keating.
